Session 405 - Using Simple Pictures to Communicate Complex Ideas

Presented by Donna Safko

We had a great time in Session 405 at eLearning Guild's DevLearn 08. Following an inspiring keynote presentation by Dan Roam, author of "The Back of the Napkin," we explored the concept of Visual Thinking and how it could be used in designing and developing eLearning. Everyone overcame their fear of drawing in public and produced some great pictures.

Participants practiced drawing a confused student and a student that "gets it."

Participants then drew a boring class and an exciting class.

The final exercise had participants pair up and use Visual Thinking to illustrate one concept learned at DevLearn 08. Looks like a lot of good communication about eLearning. These pictures make me want to hear the explanations!
